DALLAS—Just add sunlight, says screen printing and apparel company Pony Xpress Printing (PXP) about its newest design, a specialty process called “UV Tee” that allows images to appear and disappear in reaction to UV rays.
The UV-reactive inks are available in many colors and can be combined with traditional ink
that remains a constant while parts of the design printed with the specialty inks appear and disappear in direct sunlight. Colors transform less than 15 seconds after being exposed to UV light and reset in as little as 15 minutes inside.
The company additionally offers some other special-effects techniques, including body-heat-activated apparel and scented inks.
