When embroidering on a curved surface, such as a cap, it is important to ensure that stitch directions are not uniform. Registration issues arise when all the stitch areas are running in the same direction.
Pay attention to the stitch angles in every area and make sure they balance with one another (i.e. that the areas change direction to accommodate with the push and pull).
In addition, changing stitch direction can enhance the look of the embroidery as the light reflects off the thread.
