Use a higher profile ink deposit to help create a smoother ink surface across the seam of a cap. This masks the seam altogether.
Another way to handle seams is to use a water-based ink that absorbs into the surface. Use caution here as getting the proper ink deposit on the seam itself can be tricky.
Finally, designing artwork to avoid the seam and to thus eliminate excess ink on the seam surface can also be a way to go.
