With mild August temperatures outside to match the perfect 72 degrees inside, THE NBM SHOW recently visited Long Beach, California, for the fifth stop of its 2019 tour. A staple of THE NBM SHOW schedule since 1994, the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center was the site of not only THE NBM SHOW but also WRAPSCON, an event in its fifth year that's dedicated to the world of wraps.
Readers of Sign & Digital Graphics, A&E, and Printwear visited with equipment manufacturers and distributors, enjoyed hands-on demonstrations in the exhibit hall, and had the opportunity to take advantage of free sessions in the classroom.
“The attendance, interest, and activity in Long Beach was proof—once again—why this is the largest of the eight stops in 2019 for THE NBM SHOW,” says Dave Pomeroy, president of Broomfield, Colorado-based National Business Media, which produces THE NBM SHOW. “We’ve been in Long Beach since the early nineties, but I am still impressed by the healthy mix of returning buyers and those new to the show.”
In addition, WRAPSCON has called Long Beach home for the past three years. WRAPSCON is the only event put on for wrappers by wrappers, and its popularity has spread globally. The first- and second-place finishing teams in the event's Wrap Olympics came from Oklahoma and Hawaii, and Japan and Bulgaria, respectively.
The remaining 2019 stops for THE NBM SHOW include Columbus, Ohio Sept. 12–14; Denver, Colorado Oct. 11–12; and Charlotte, North Carolina Nov. 8–9.
