Scheduling Social Media Posts

Kelly “Rags” Ragland is owner and operator of Rags to Stitches Productions, a holistic advertising-specialty company providing a range of services from web design and development to customized apparel.

Maintaining a consistent social media presence can be a challenge considering our daily schedules, and as I’ve mentioned in previous online posts and Internet Strategy columns, timers can make that world of hurt less painful. Set aside an hour each month to schedule out posts and engage with your audience.

Here's how you can break up your time:

40-Minute Formulation

If you can set aside a little more than a half hour of time for formulating content, you can use Gramblr to upload content set to run on a schedule for 30 days. I have maintained a small dose of two posts per day, one being related to my products and the other promoting my products. Once you get used to the system, you can easily pick up speed and grow the number of your daily posts to run several times per day.

20-Minute Talk

Your posts are not going to engage with your followers by themselves. I take just five minutes each week throughout that 30-day period to log in and respond to any comments, follow people who have followed me, and discover other users to follow that may be interested in my products.

After 30 days, rinse and repeat! This little strategy is no mother of all strategies but helps grow an audience, gather followers, and generate traffic to my websites. In time I expect growth and success, and a return on investment for just one hour per month.
