Clipart is widely recognized as a time saver, but that’s only the beginning of what it can do for your business. Especially with today’s enhanced options, clipart can be a powerful tool to help accelerate sales, lower overhead, and boost the bottom line.

Online shoppers want a sense of pricing, and offering an online designer on your website with clipart that has been carefully chosen for your target markets allows you to kill two birds with one stone. You can let customers know available shirt styles, an idea of what the artwork will look like, and the pricing, which greatly expedites the entire sales process. By showcasing the message, product, and pricing all at one time, a decorated apparel shop no longer has to take two weeks to close a sale.

Clipart also speeds up sales by allowing customers to quickly find their desired type of artwork. This can be done with categories that are organized by topic, such as sports, occupation, fashion, and medical, and then as dictated, subcategories are created. The second technique is by keyword. The better the keywords, the more likely consumers are to find exactly what they’re looking for, provided it’s available. Inputting keywords can be time consuming yet useful, but some suppliers provide clipart and related software programs with relevant keywords already input.

This provides a time-savings starting point, but also allows decorators to add other keywords as needed or allowed by the software. Keywords can also be edited, and categories can be modified. Anytime new artwork is uploaded to the library, the software prompts the user to categorize and associate keywords with the new content to help keep files organized and current.

Some programs also feature a batch keyword tool to expedite the process of adding keywords. A category is created in a Microsoft Excel file and populated with all the related clipart names. Then, appropriate keywords are added to this file for each piece of art. You can also have multiple keywords for each piece of artwork.

With options such as Google Drive, affordable cloud searches, and inexpensive cloud storage, space is no longer a consideration for a clipart library. These options provide virtually limitless digital storage capacity. However, offering a large selection means you and your customers must be able to find art quickly with minimal effort.
