RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.—The American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) board of directors names Brian C. Francois as the organization’s new executive vice president. Francois succeeds vice president John Y. "Jack" Daniels upon his retirement this spring.
Currently the CEO of the Pulcra Chemicals Group, Francois holds a history of multiple leadership positions at the company. He joined Pulcra in 1992 as senior sales representative. During his term as technical manager for the company, Francois teamed with chemists to develop new chemicals and received six patents for innovation in textile chemistry within a two-year period. Additionally, Francois managed multiple teams as global business manager from 2001–2005 growing sales by $5 million, eventually transitioning to vice president of the company in 2011, and to his current role as global CEO in 2014.
The AATCC touts Francois’ experience in the apparel end-use and textile market as a “great benefit” to the organization. Alongside his new appointment with the association, he holds more than 25 years of service on multiple committees for the group.
AATCC formed a committee in mid-summer 2017 to search for a new vice president when John Y. “Jack” Daniels, presiding vice president, announced his retirement. Francois begins his term in early April 2018.
