NEW YORK CITY—Anvil Knitwear launches an exclusive line of organic apparel, including Ts and hoodies, to benefit the Jane Goodall Institute (JGI), including its global environmental and humanitarian youth program, Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots.
Founded in 1977, JGI leads efforts to protect chimpanzees and their habitats. The institute is also recognized for establishing community-centered conservation and development programs in Africa, as well as Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots.
In addition to the line with JGI, Anvil recently partnered with environmental organizations such as Earth Day, TED Mission Blue and REDD+ Coalition for Rainforest Nations. Other milestones include Anvil’s recent announcement that it was the first company to receive the Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production’s WRAPe certification for its Honduras-based textile mill, and the launch of the interactive website www.trackmyt.com in 2009, which teaches consumers about the environmental, historical and social aspects of manufacturing, buying and owning a T-shirt.
