DALLAS—BSN Sports announces the acquisition of Valenti Sports. The Rochester, New York-based uniform supplier has served the area since 1993.
“(Founder) John Valenti and his sons, Joe and Phil, have thrived because Valenti Sports is deeply committed to value, integrity, and service,” says Terry Babilla, president of BSN SPORTS. “These are the same principles that guide our work at BSN SPORTS, and we are confident that Valenti’s employees and customers will benefit from access to our unparalleled selection, service, and scale.”
The company currently provides more than 400 teams in the greater Rochester area with uniforms and other team goods. As part of the agreement, founder John Valenti plans to retire. Valenti’s sons succeed him in day-to-day operations.
“We are immensely proud of the business we’ve built over the last 25 years, and are thrilled to join the BSN SPORTS family,” says Valenti. “More specifically, BSN’s superior technology and leading brands will enable our sales pros to spend more time supporting coaches and servicing them in a manner that benefits Rochester’s young people.”
BSN Sports says it plans to lease Valenti’s current facility so that area customers can “continue to expect the same family-oriented high level of service.” In the coming months, the storefront will transition to a team sales showroom and offices.
