FAIRFAX, Va.—Custom Ink announces efforts to raise funds for Giving Tuesday and encourages other parties to participate. The company helps people raise funds and awareness for charities and personal causes through the sales of custom apparel on its platform.
Established as a movement to inspire philanthropy at the start of the holiday season, Giving Tuesday typically takes place the day after Thanksgiving in the U.S. It is often stylized as #GivingTuesday across social media outlets where companies, organizations, and foundations push to raise awareness leading up to the date. The 2018 installment of Giving Tuesday falls on Nov. 27.
“Since its founding in 2013, Custom Ink Fundraising has helped raise more than $60 million for many worthy causes,” the company points out, adding that the growth of Giving Tuesday has jumped 30 percent since its start in 2012.
Custom Ink highlights a few key causes this year including:
• Paradise Strong: A foundation formed in support of the North Valley Community Foundation Camp Fire Evacuation Relief Fund.
• Stiggy's Dogs: the organization rescues and trains shelter dogs to be service dogs for military veterans living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or Traumatic Brain Injury
• Pig Preserve: This group helps raise funds for the care and feeding of the organization's 150+ pigs, including the 19 rescues brought in this year.
• Facing Homelessness / The BLOCK Project: this Seattle based group invites homeowners to host a BLOCK Home; a fully-equipped, 125 square-foot, off-grid home in their backyard for a neighbor living on the streets.
