TOKYO—Epson makes the list of 2017 Top 100 Global Innovators released by Clarivate Analytics. This year marks the seventh consecutive year the company has made the list.
Clarivate analyzes companies’ patents and intellectual property based on proprietary data to select corporations and institutions for its annual list. The firm’s analysis focuses on four main criteria: patent volume, success, globalization, and influence.
“Epson is honored to have been selected for inclusion in the Top 100 Global Innovators list for the seventh consecutive year," says Toshiya Takahata, executive officer and general administrative manager of Epson's Intellectual Property Division. "Epson's business strategies and intellectual property strategies are closely linked under our Epson 25 Corporate Vision.”
Takahata adds that Epson is “constantly seeking to realize products and services that exceed the expectations of our customers and society, and believe we have been honored as a global innovator out of an appreciation for our research and development efforts and intellectual property activities.”
With this year’s list, the company joins a small group of only 37 organizations who hold the seventh consecutive year track record.
