International Up-And-Comers, Awarded
NEW YORK CITY—Stylesight, a global provider of trend forecasting and product-development tools for creative professionals in the fashion and style industries, announces the winners of its seasonal Student Prints and Graphics competition. Now in its fifth season, Stylesight hosts the contest for students around the world to support and share emerging artists with the industry and Stylesight’s global subscribers.
“This competition began as a small initiative to introduce the industry to young, talented designers,” remarks Isham Sardouk, senior vice president of trend forecasting. “With five seasons of success, we now have the full intention of extending the contest worldwide to engage additional schools and discover more talented students interested in forecasting.”
Created in partnership with Stylesight’s Paris-based forecasting team, the competition selects the best and brightest young talent in prints and graphics design. Based on Stylesight’s trend content and forecasting reports, students are invited to create a series of exclusive prints and graphics to be judged by a team of experts led by Stylesight’s Sardouk. The designs are judged on the quality of work, level of creativity, cohesiveness and execution.
Noteworthy design schools are selected seasonally for participation, and a series of winners are chosen from both the U.S. and Europe. Congratulations to first place winners Stephanie Barnett of The Academy of Art University in San Francisco and Dao Nguyen of The University of Central Lancashire in Europe. First place winners receive $1,000, while second place is awarded an internship opportunity with Stylesight in Paris or New York City and third place winners are featured on Stylesight’s website www.stylesight.com.
