BEAVERTON, Ore.—Nike lands the number-one spot in a list of most valuable apparel brands. Forbes reports that the consultancy firm, Brand Finance ranked the brand based on its global sales growth.
The report says Nike is valued at $32.4 billion which is a 16-percent increase over last year’s numbers. Forbes points out that the company had significant sales growth in regions like China, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Forbes attributes Nike’s continued strength in an era where many activewear brands are struggling to campaigns focused around “heavyweight names and athletes in all kinds of fields.”
Brand Finance ranks companies based on various metrics like past and project revenues, as well as the value of trademarks. The full report, entitled Apparel 50, features a range of other lifestyle, luxury, and retail apparel brands among its rankings.
