Penn Emblem Accepts WBENC Certification

PHILADELPHIA—Penn Emblem accepts the National Women’s Business Enterprise Certification (WBENC) for 2017. The WBENC fosters women-owned businesses and supports supplier diversity. Part of the certification criteria requires that a qualifying company is 51 percent “owned, controlled, operated, and managed,” by a woman or women.

Randi Blumenthal-Joseph, president of Penn Emblem since 2010, accepted the certification after a review of the company's Philadelphia location by the organization. In addition to Blumenthal-Joseph, Penn Emblem’s operational and management teams include multiple women leaders.

The company has accepted WBENC certification annually since 2010. The news comes during a busy year for the company in rewards and certifications. Penn Emblem received two awards from separate firms in the past six months for workplace safety standards at both its Mexico and U.S. facilities.
