PHILADELPHIA—Penn Emblem joined the fight against breast cancer during the month of October with their Breast Cancer Awareness Month donation drive.
Employees of the company were encouraged to dress down in pink as a nod to the iconic pink ribbon associated with breast cancer and make donations toward the cause. Each donation was matched by Penn Emblem as an added incentive.
In addition to being a philanthropic cause, Penn Emblem’s drive also had personal inspiration within the company.
“We do have several employees that have had breast cancer or family members that fought the disease,” says Penn Emblem marketing coordinator Dana Berardino.
In total, the Philadelphia based company’s donations and matches reached $2,760. The company hopes to continue the drive as an annual event.
“As a woman-owned business, it’s important to spread awareness throughout the community,” adds Berardino.
