INDIANAPOLIS—In preparation for next week’s event, Printwear magazine and The NBM Show announce their participants in the upcoming panel discussion in Indianapolis. Joe Clarke, Rich Hoffman, Ray Smith and Lon Winters will discuss the advances that have most impacted the trade and will field questions and comments from those in attendance.
Joe Clarke, who currently runs operations and sales for Clarke Product Renovation, spent his entire career in screen printing. He has been involved, at some level, in nearly every facet of the trade and is known for his intellectual slant on screen printing.
Fellow panelist Rich Hoffman, president of the M&R Companies, was also raised in the industry and, in turn, helped to raise the industry with his innovations on the mechanical side of the trade. His perfectionist, hands-on approach has earned him the respect of practitioners and manufacturers alike.
Ray Smith, also a lifer, began printing shirts for his fraternity in college and has come a long way (via ink-and-screen) to his current role of applications lab manager for Wilflex/PolyOne. Peers have come to rely on his comprehensive, experience-based methods of trouble-shooting that have played a distinct role in the industry’s progression.
Last only in terms of alphabetical order is Lon Winters, industry consultant and president of graphicelephants.com. His portfolio brims with many industry awards and accolades, while his serious educational contributions are tempered by his famous rock-and-roll style.
