Tip of the week: Seduce with Samples

Helen Hart Momsen encourages embroiderers to market their business by way of the sample. “I know a savvy business owner who makes a business card holder from felt using only the embroidery machine. She slips several business cards—one for the recipient of this hand-crafted gift and some to share with others—into the case. This not only tells but shows the customer what she has to offer,” she says. Along these same lines, Momsen adds, “A perfect way to let a customer know that your business is a full-service shop offering digitizing is to communicate if a sample design was digitized in-house. This can lead to other avenues for business if it is known you can take care of any needs from start to finish.”
