As decorators and embellishers, we have all had ample opportunity and experience in handling T-shirts and knit polo shirts for many a client. In the wearables pecking order of our promotional-products industry, knit items far outweigh the many other wearable apparel items available to our market, such as outerwear, headwear and woven sport shirts. There are several reasons for this, the most predominant of which is the fact that cost and availability have always favored T-shirts and low-cost knit polo shirts. Also factoring in, our promotional-products industry historically had very little to offer in the way of woven sport shirts. The basic menu was short and simple—denims, twills and chambrays. But all of that has changed.
