There are many ways to market services without feeling like a "pushy" salesperson. First, I recommend that you try to shift your thinking from "I have to sell" to "I can help!" The businesses in your community have a very real need for embroidery services. By offering your service, you are actually helping to solve their issue of, for example, where to get their logoed apparel.
Ask what their needs are, spend more time listening, not selling, and then ask if you can follow back up with them to recommend some solutions. You might be amazed at how many of these conversations lead to sales, and then repeat customers. Customers want to buy from someone that can help. Be the person to do it.
