How do you recognize a ghost image?
The ghost image itself is usually very faint, and in some cases almost negligible, yet it is often distracting enough to cause a problem. The image is not usually “bleached out” or lighter in color. In fact, sometimes, the color may be more saturated and brighter. The most common ghosting problem stems from the pigment degradation of yellow dyes. This will create discoloration in the form of blemishing a light green shirt into a blue ghost image. This is true with other colors as well. A red shirt will have a magenta image, while a purple shirt will have a brighter (more saturated) purple or lilac hue in the image.
