What do you think is the biggest challenge most distributors face?
2013 has proven to be an interesting year for our industry. With mixed messaging ranging from renewed optimism to “gloom and doom,” there are several challenges (and opportunities) over the next six months.
All of the obvious challenges such as the economy, competition, and even the weather are sure to be high on their lists and may obscure the biggest challenge distributors and suppliers face every year. Overall, understanding what customers truly want is key in differentiating their business from that of their competitors. Offering reliable and consistent service to customers may sound overly simplistic, but it has long been the foundation to building a solid reputation in this industry.
