What should I know before diving into contract printing?
Contract printing can be beneficial during slow periods of your business but also dangerous if you do not handle it correctly. You should only consider contract printing if you have dead press time, meaning you should be using your presses to make the highest gross margins available. That being said, you should be able to calculate your daily overhead (cost of keeping the shop open but not printing a single shirt) and then factor in contract printing. You might find that you end up losing money on contract work if you don't take into account the cost of running your business.
