When I perform a print, some of the image does not come through. How do I resolve this issue without dissolving the emulsion?

Answer

This problem usually occurs when the emulsion on the screen has not been allowed enough time to dry. The emulsion on top may feel and look dry but if the layer underneath is not fully dried before exposing and washing out emulsion can mix with water and run down your screen into an image area. Give your screens as much time as you can to dry in a climate controlled room with a dehumidifier running to help suck out the extra moisture. Also storing recently washed out screens in a rack instead of standing the screen up vertically will help keep emulsion from running down the screen into your image area. If you are still having issues when you get to press use a can of screen opener to help open the mesh in the problem area.
